They think of hockey teams and cold winters, of French cuisine and culture. They think of an old port with cobbled streets and a history that dates back to the mid 1600s.

Originally settled as a French colony, New Orleans has evolved with rich French-Creole influences, which have been passed through the generations and continue to inspire the city’s culture to this day. Architecture, food, music and even language remain true to the city’s roots.
A Toile Tale
Nothing says French quite like a room furnished à la Madame de Pompadour in floor to ceiling toile. The word “toile” literally translates to “cloth” in French. What we know today as “toile” or “toile de Jouy” sprung out of 18th century textile design. These fabrics are the epitome of French provincial fashion today.
