Palm Beach Luxury
“In the living room, a painting by contemporary British artist Simon Casson inspired the
blue-hued décor”
Palm Beach Luxury Montreal-based design firm Atelier de l’Opera created this airy and colorful second home for clients in Palm Beach, FL. Designers Jean Turcotte and Louis Pépin collaborated on the client’s primary residence in Montreal, so the trust factor allowed them to realize their vision for this project through a series of customizations and bold color choices.
Against the backdrop of bright sunny Florida and an expansive golf course, the home is light and airy, with high ceilings and lots of windows. The grand scale of the rooms allowed Turcotte and Pepin to use strong, bright and contrasting colors.
In the living room, a painting by contemporary British artist Simon Casson inspired the blue-hued décor. Sweeping floor-to-ceiling blue silk curtains and double height archways frame the painting on either side. A bold blue geometric rug anchors the handmade Italian crystal chandelier.
Designers used a similar palette of bright blue throughout the rest of the house, contrasting it with bold pops of fuchsia and silver lighting and accessories. All furniture was custom made in Montreal and shipped to Palm Beach to create a truly unique décor.
Through bold scale and richly layered textures, this cool, contemporary palette feels warm and inviting. The most rewarding aspect of the project, according to the designers, is seeing it all come together to the client’s satisfaction and delight.
