Seasoned designers Jennifer Mabley and Austin Handler collaborated with clients to create a relaxing beach retreat in Sagaponack, NY that was both comfortable and stylish. Right away the pair realized their clients were very design savvy and shared a similar design aesthetic.

Using a signature palette of watery blues and whites, the duo designed a luxury home that was referential to the seaside atmosphere without some of the more stereotypical elements of “beach house” décor. Soft blues and layered textures are juxtaposed by elements of dark wood, silver and glass throughout the home.

The home was essentially an empty shell when Mabley and Handler came on board. Working with such enthusiastic and knowledgeable clients inspired the pair to come up with new and exciting ways to realize the décor, such as the Dana Volkert artwork in the living room. Curtains on the double height windows balance the grand scale of the living room and add warmth to the airy open floor plan.

The serene atmosphere of the décor creates the perfect backdrop for both a relaxing weekend retreat and a large and festive gathering of friends, ensuring that the home will bring joy to the owners for years to come.
